YCMOU Courses conducted by Datey College, Yavatmal
Babaji Datey Kala Ani Vanijya Mahavidyalaya, Yavatmal has started YCMOU study centre from 2019-20 session. Prof Prashant Z Bagde has been appointed as coordinator. Initially, MBA and Diploma in Mass Communication (DMCI) have been started. Classes are held on every Sunday.
41 students have taken admission for MBA course. First semester examination has been held, where 38 students out of 41 have passed the examination. Out of the 38 students, 30 students have obtained first class. 14 students have taken admission to DMCI course. They will appear for the examination in April, 2020.
Golden Opportunity to persons who could not complete graduation and post graduation due to various reasons
There are various persons who could not complete graduation and post graduation due to various reasons. However, they are interested in further studying and advancing their career. In order to provide opportunity to such students for their further learning, College has started a Centre of Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU). Initially, MBA and Diploma in Journalism courses have been started. Initial response is very encouraging.
The college intends to expand the scope and add more and more courses for benefit of society.
Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) was established in July 1989 by Act XX- (1989) of the Maharashtra State Legislature. It is the Fifth Open University in the country. The main aim of the YCMOU is to become a Mass Varsity and to make available to the common man, educational programmes that are of practical use in his day-to-day life and those that provide better prospects for the future. The YCMOU has its headquarters at Nashik, Regional Centres at 8 districts and the study centres spread all over the State of Maharashtra.
All the degree and post-graduate degree programmes are duly recognized and approved by the ‘University Grant Commission (UGC)’. Hence, these programmes are equivalent to the respective programmes offered by any other statutory university in India, for the purpose of employment, promotion and further education. In this respect, the status of this university is at par with all other statutory universities of India.
