Babaji Datey Kala Ani Vanijya Mahavidyalaya, popularly known as Datey College, was started on 26th July 1959 with just 145 students. Today, the students strength exceeds 1,900.
The College is under Management of Vanijya Mahavidyalaya Yavatmal Trust. This trust is sub-trust of Vishuddha Vidyalaya.

The college is affiliated to Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University. The college is Government recognised and Government aided. The college has obtained B++ Accreditation from NAAC.

The college has Girls’ Hostel with 150 capacity, well equipped library, Study rooms, Computer laboratory, fully furnished Auditorium, Geography and Home Economics Laboratories, Music rooms, NCC, NSS, gymnasium and play grounds. Two volleyball grounds and two kabaddi grounds with light facilities for playing in night are available.
The college has modern indoor and outdoor gymnasium.
