English Department : दाते महाविद्यालयात बूट कॅम्पचे यशस्वी आयोजन

इंग्रजी विभाग, बाबाजी दाते कला आणि वाणिज्य महाविद्यालय, यवतमाळ आणि स्वामी विवेकानंद केंद्र, यवतमाळ यांच्या संयुक्त विद्यमाने रविवार दिनांक १२ ऑक्टोबर, २०२५ रोजी सकाळी १०:०० ते दुपारी ०४:०० वाजेपर्यंत स्वातंत्र्यवीर सावरकर सभागृहामध्ये एकदिवसीय 'बूट कॅम्प' (Boot Camp) चे यशस्वी आयोजन करण्यात आले. विद्यार्थी विकसन उपक्रमा अंतर्गत या हे आयोजन करण्यात आले. बूट कॅम्पच्या आयोजनासाठी महाविद्यालयाचे प्राचार्य डॉ. राजेश सिंगरू यांचे मार्गदर्शन लाभले.
या बूट कॅम्पचा मुख्य उद्देश विद्यार्थ्यांमध्ये संभाषण कौशल्य (Communication Skills), व्यक्तिमत्व विकास (Personality Development) आणि नेतृत्व गुण विकसित करणे हा होता.
या कार्यशाळेसाठी डॉ. सचिन तेलखडे हे पहिल्या सत्रामध्ये प्रमुख वक्ते म्हणून उपस्थित होते. त्यांनी 'संभाषण कौशल्य आणि व्यक्तिमत्व विकास' या अत्यंत महत्त्वाच्या विषयावर विद्यार्थ्यांना मार्गदर्शन केले. आधुनिक जगात या कौशल्यांचे असलेले महत्त्व त्यांनी प्रभावीपणे पटवून दिले. Listening, Speaking, Reading आणि Writing ही चार कौशल्य कशी आत्मसात करायची हे विद्यार्थ्यांना पटवून दिले. स्वामी विवेकानंद केंद्र, यवतमाळ येथील प्रशिक्षित ट्रेनर्स (Trainers) यांच्या मार्गदर्शनाखाली योगाभ्यास सत्र आयोजित करण्यात आले. या सत्रातून विद्यार्थ्यांनी शारीरिक आणि मानसिक एकाग्रतेचे महत्त्व जाणले. दुपारच्या सत्रात विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी विविध मैदानी खेळ आयोजित करण्यात आले होते. या खेळानंतर विविध गट कार्यांचे (Tasks) आयोजन करण्यात आले. या कार्यांमधून विद्यार्थ्यांना प्रत्यक्ष अनुभवाने वेळेचे व्यवस्थापन (Time Management) आणि नेतृत्व क्षमता (Leadership Skills) हे गुण शिकविण्यात आले.
या बूट कॅम्प मध्ये शहरातील विविध महाविद्यालयातील ६८  विद्यार्थी उपस्थित होते. इंग्रजी विभाग प्रमुख तसेच महाविद्यालयाचे उपप्राचार्य डॉ. ताराचंद कंठाळे याप्रसंगी प्रामुख्याने उपस्थित होते. स्वामी विवेकानंद केंद्रातर्फे श्री. उदय सज्जनवार, श्रीमती पल्लवीताई जोशी, श्री. अमोलजी गाढवकर, श्री. विजय दीक्षित, प्रा. सुरेंद्र  नारलावार, श्री. पंकज वसानी, श्री. श्रेयस भावे, श्री. आशिष कुलकर्णी आणि सौ. प्राचीताई दामले उपस्थित होते.
हा एकदिवसीय बूट कॅम्प विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी अत्यंत प्रेरणादायी ठरला. सैद्धांतिक ज्ञानाबरोबरच व्यावहारिक अनुभव आणि गट कार्यांमधून विद्यार्थ्यांना त्यांच्या व्यक्तिमत्त्वाच्या सर्वांगीण विकासासाठी महत्त्वपूर्ण मार्गदर्शन मिळाले.

English Language Club and its Logo along with Editorial Board of Dawn Wallchart was inaugurated in the event organized by the Department of English in association with IQAC at Babaji Datey Kala Ani Vanijya Mahavidyalaya, Yavatmal in Sawarkar Hall, on 23rd September 2025. Initially, the dignitaries lighted the Lamp and garlanded the images of Goddess Saraswati and Late Babaji Datey, founder of the institute.In his introductory remarks, Dr.  Tarachand Kanthale, Vice-Principal and Head of the English Department, explained the objectives of the club, which include organizing debates, group discussions, quizzes, poetry recitations, and other interactive activities that encourage creativity and critical thinking among students.
The  Inaugurator of the function and President of Vanijya Mahavidyalaya Trust, Yavatmal, Mr. Vinayak Datey enlightened the students by his motivating   thoughts. The Guest of Honour and speaker Dr. Nilesh Sulbhewar of Shivshakti Mahavidyalaya, Babhulgaon spoke at length on this occasion. Delivering his speech on the topic "Mastering Communication Skills in English for Employability", he underlined the need and importance of English Language.  He also elaborated that English could be the language of bread and butter so far employability is concerned. On this occasion, Dr. Rajesh Singru, Principal of the college, presided over the function. He highlighted the importance of such clubs in providing students with opportunities beyond the classroom.
Besides this, during the programme, Executive Members of English Language Club and Editorial Board were felicitated at the hands of dignitaries on the dais. Dr. Sachin Telkhade, IQAC Coordinator, Teaching faculties, other staff members and students attended the programme in large quantity. The inauguration of the English Language Club marks a new step in nurturing talent and preparing students to excel in both academic and professional spheres. Prof. Rahul Rathod conducted the proceedings while Prof. Nalini Ade proposed vote of thanks.

A new Language Lab was inaugurated at Babaji Date Kala Ani Vanijya Mahavidyalaya, Yavatmal, developed in association with Billion Learners, on Friday, 5th September 2025. The facility was formally inaugurated at the hands of Shri Vinayak Datey, Chairman of Vanijya Mahavidyalaya Trust. This event was graced by the presence of Shri. Vijay Kaslikar, Secretary of Vanijya Mahavidyalaya Trust, Dr. Rajesh N. Singru, Principal of the college, Mrs. Sushma V. Datey, Member of Management Committee, Shri. Mangesh Kelkar, Treasurer and Mrs. Meera Kelkar, member of the management committee.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri V.S.Datey highlighted the growing importance of English and communication skills in academics and professional life. Dr. Rajesh Singru, Principal, expressed that the lab would help the students in   preparing   competitive exams, interviews,  and global opportunities. The English Lab would definitely be helpful in developing language proficiency focussing on Language Skills prominently Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.The Language Lab was installed under the guidance of Dr. T.K. Kanthale, Vice _Principal and Head, Department of English.
The inauguration was attended by faculty members and students, who welcomed the initiative as a step towards academic excellence.

The Department of English, Babaji Datey Kala Ani Vanijya Mahavidyalaya, Yavatmal, organized a "Brainstorming Quiz Contest: Aspiring for Competitive Exams" on 9th September 2025 under the guidance of Dr. Rajesh N.  Singru, Principal of the college, and Prof. Dr. Tarachand K. Kanthale, Vice-Principal & Head of the English Department.
Students participated with enthusiasm, showcasing quick thinking and elimination techniques to come to the right answers.
The top three rank holders of this quiz contest, who will represent the college in Youth Festival of the Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati,  were selected for the University level competition. The program successfully instilled confidence and inspired students to strive for excellence in their  upcoming university level competition.
The quiz tested students on general awareness, English grammar, Marathi grammar and vocabulary.
With the assistance of departmental senior faculties, Dr. Sachin Telkhade, IQAC  Coordinator and Prof. Nalini Ade, the quiz competition was successfully conducted by Prof. Rahul K. Rathod of English Department.

The Department of English and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) organised a Seminar for B.A. II 'Exploring Major & Minor: Scope for English Language Students' on Thursday 21st August 2025 at 9:00 a.m.
The Seminar was organised under the guidance of Principal Dr. Rajesh Singru and Head, Department of English Dr. Tarachand Kanthale. In the beginning, Vice Principal Dr. Tarachand Kanthale delivered introductory remarks focussing on NEP and significance of English Language.
In his PPT presentation, Dr. Sachin H. Telkhade explained the concept of Major and Minor in the structure of NEP 2020. He introduced the syllabus of English Language  for Major and Minor. He also made students acquainted with the scope of English Language in their career. He also elaborated  the importance of Communication Skills in  day to day life as well.
Dr. Ravijeet Gawande,  Prof. Nalini Ade, and Prof. Rahul Rathod were prominently present.
All the students of English Language B.A. Sem. III were present. Prof. Rahul Rathod extended the vote of thanks.

आज बुधवार दिनांक 20/08/2025 रोजी महाविद्यालयामध्ये NEP Implementation Cell अंतर्गत इंग्रजी विभागाने बी. ए. भाग १ च्या विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी GOEC विषय कसे निवडावे याबद्दल मार्गदर्शन करण्यासाठी कार्यशाळेचे आयोजन केले होते. हा कार्यक्रम महाविद्यालयाचे प्राचार्य डॉ. राजेश सिंगरू यांच्या मार्गदर्शनात आयोजित करण्यात आला. या कार्यक्रमाला महाविद्यालयाचे उपप्राचार्य डॉ. ताराचंद कंठाळे, प्रा. डॉ. वैशाली बेडेकर, डॉ. प्रशांत बागडे, डॉ. सचिन तेलखडे,  प्रा. यशवंत राठोड, प्रा. अनिरुद्ध नरखेडकर, प्रा. गेडाम आणि प्रा. काजल वांढरे प्रामुख्याने उपस्थित होते. सर्वप्रथम डॉ. ताराचंद कंठाळे यांनी विद्यार्थ्यांना NEP मुळे शिक्षण पद्धतीत झालेले बदल व त्याला कसे सामोरे जावे,  याबद्दल विद्यार्थ्यांना थोडक्यात मार्गदर्शन केले. डॉ. सचिन तेलखडे यांनी विद्यार्थ्यांना C Vertical मधील Generic Open Elective Course (GOEC) हा विषय कसा निवडावा याबद्दल मार्गदर्शन केले. यानंतर संस्कृत विषयाबद्दल प्रा. डॉ. वैशाली बेडेकर, भूगर्भशास्त्र या विषयाबद्दल प्रा. यशवंत राठोड तसेच पर्यावरण शास्त्र या विषयाबद्दल प्रा. अनिरुद्ध नरखेडकर यांनी माहिती दिली. या विषयांचे GOEC अंतर्गत अभ्यासक्रम, प्रश्नपत्रिका, गुणदान इत्यादी याबद्दल माहिती दिली. या कार्यक्रमाला मोठ्या संख्येने विद्यार्थी उपस्थित होते. कार्यक्रमाचे आयोजक डॉ. सचिन तेलखडे यांनी हे विषय निवडण्याची प्रक्रिया विद्यार्थ्यांना सविस्तर आणि सोप्या भाषेत समजावून सांगितली. त्यानंतर कार्यक्रमाच्या शेवटी सर्व उपस्थितांचे आभार मानून या कार्यशाळेची सांगता झाली.

On the occasion of Independence Day i.e. on 15th August 2025,the wall chart "Dawn" was inaugurated on behalf of the department of English. This year the theme of Dawn Wall chart is 'Career Opportunities for the English Language Students'. With the help of dendrogram, diverse sectors or areas are shown where the students can approach for the career or jobs.  On the occasion of inauguration President of the institution Shri Vinayak datey, Principal Dr. Rajesh Singru and member of management Sau. Sushma Datey were present.
The wall chart was designed  under the guidance of Dr. Tarachand Kanthale, Head Deptt. of English, Dr. Sachin Telkhade, Prof. Nalini Ade  and Prof. Rahul Rathod. Hard efforts were put forward by Prashik Bhasme, Arthraj Rathod and Amey Meshram for the preparation and presentation of the chart.

Department of English has conducted a workshop focusing on the "Use of AI in Developing Language Competency" It was inaugurated on March 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM. The workshop aimed to equip participants with practical knowledge and skills in utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to enhance English language proficiency. The workshop commenced with the formal inauguration ceremony.

Dr. Tarachand Kanthale, Vice-Principal and Head, Department of English delivered the introductory remarks, highlighting the growing importance of language competency in today's digital age and the potential of AI to revolutionize language learning. He emphasized the workshop's objective of providing participants with hands-on experience in using AI tools for language development. Dr. Sachin Telkhade then introduced the esteemed resource person, Prof.  Dnyaneshwar Ghatkar, providing a comprehensive overview of his academic and professional achievements in the field of language. Dr. Rajesh Singru presided over the inaugural program. In his presidential address, he underscored the institution's commitment to fostering innovation and technological literacy among students. He expressed his confidence that the workshop would significantly benefit the participants and contribute to their overall academic and professional growth. The programme was anchored by Prof. Nalini Ade.

Following the formal inauguration, Prof.  Dnyaneshwar Ghatkar took the stage to conduct the session. He provided a detailed overview of various AI tools available for language learning, focusing particularly on their application in developing English language competency. Prof.  Ghatkar guided the students through practical demonstrations and exercises, showcasing how AI tools can be used to improve vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and writing skills. He emphasized the importance of using these tools effectively and responsibly, highlighting their potential to personalize and enhance the learning experience. The session was interactive, with students actively participating in discussions. The session was attended by students, teacher and non-teaching staff.

Today, Thursday, 09/01/2025 at 09:00, a Seminar on NEP Examination was organized by English  Department and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).
Principal of  the college Dr. Rajesh Singaru was the chairman of the programme. He explained the importance of NEP at length. Dr. Tarachand Kanthale, Vice-Principal and Head of English Department, guided the students. Dr. Sachin Telkhade conducted the Seminar. He guided the students  elaborately about examinations conducted under NEP.  The subtopics of Seminar were University level exams, College level exams, classification of marks, minimum marks required to pass as per NEP structure. This information was given in the form of  Power Point Presentation (PPT).  In the end, question-answer session was conducted. The problems of students about examination were resolved. Total 140 students were present for this session. The programme was anchored by Prof. Jigyasa Sagalani. All the professors were present for the same.

बाबाजी दाते कला आणि वाणिज्य महाविद्यालय, यवतमाळ आणि स्वामी विवेकानंद केंद्र, यवतमाळ यांच्या संयुक्त विद्यमाने शुक्रवार दिनांक 24/10/2024  रोजी महाविद्यालयामध्ये विद्यार्थी विकसन उपक्रमातर्गत  इंग्रजी विभागातर्फे परीक्षा घेण्यात आली. महापुरुषांचे विचार विद्यार्थ्यांपर्यंत पोहोचावे या उद्देशाने ही परीक्षा दरवर्षी  आयोजित करण्यात येते. यावर्षीची परीक्षा अरुण करमरकर लिखित "अष्टावधानी शिवराय" या पुस्तकावर आधारित होती. या परीक्षेमध्ये एकूण 56 मुलांनी सहभाग घेतला. परीक्षेमध्ये सहभागी विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी व्यक्तिमत्व विकास या विषयावर एक दिवसीय शिबिराचे आयोजन करण्यात येणार आहे. या परीक्षेच्या आयोजनासाठी महाविद्यालयाचे प्राचार्य डॉ. राजेश सिंगरू तसेच उप प्राचार्य डॉ ताराचंद कंठाळे यांचे सहकार्य लाभले. डॉ. सचिन तेलखडे यांनी समन्वयक म्हणून काम पाहिले तसेच प्रा. संमोहिनी गोरे आणि प्रा. नलिनी आडे यांनी परीक्षेचे आयोजन केले.

Department of English, Babaji Datey Kala Ani Vanijya Mahavidyalaya, Yavatmal organized lnauguration of English Literary Society and Editorial Board of Dawn Walchart on 16th October,2024 at Sawarkar Hall. The Guest of Honour and speaker Dr. Pritee Thakare, Jijamata Arts College, Darwha spoke at length on this occasion. During her speech, she underlined the need and importance English of language. Addressing the gathering, she emphasized that the role of education is to find out virtues and build up one's personality.
Dr. Sachin Telkhade in his introductory remarks highlighted the function and importance of English Literary Society.The  Inaugurator of the function and President of Vanijya Mahavidyalaya Yavatmal Trust, Mr. Vinayak Datey enlightened the students by his motivating  thoughts. Dr. Tarachand Kanthale Head, Department of English, presided over the function and addressed the gathering. He appealed the students not to ignore English languge.
Besides this, during the programme, Executive Members of English Literary Society, Editorial Board and English Community were felicitated. Teaching faculties, other staff members and students attended the programme. Prof. Sammohini Gore conducted the proceedings while Prof. Nalini Ade proposed vote of thanks.

Department of English, Babaji Datey Kala Ani Vanijya Mahavidyalaya, Yavatmal inaugurated Wall Chart "Dawn" on the occasion of Independence Day. The main attraction of the Wall Chart is National Education Policy 2020. The chart displays some salient features of NEP 2020. On this auspicious occasion President Mr. Vinayak Datey, Mrs. Sushama Datey, Principal Dr. Pradeep Darware, HOD Dr. Tarachand Kanthale, Dr Sachin Telkhade, Prof. Nalini Ade, members of English Literary Society and students were prominently present to grace the occasion.

The Department of English conducted Group Discussion on 6th of April, 2024. Dr. T. K. Kanthale, Head, Department of English motivated the students to participate in Group Discussions. He explained Dos and Don'ts of Group Discussions. 4 groups of 12 students each were formed. Dr. Tarachand Kanthale & Dr. Sachin Telkhade were the  juries for the same. In total, 48 students actively participated and enlightened themselves. The programme was helpful in enhancing confidence of students in English speaking and expressing their views boldly.

Department of English Babaji Detey Kala Ani Vanijya Mahavidyalaya, Yavatmal organised Poetry Recitation Competition and Guest Lecture on Poetry: A Significant Form of Literature on 21st of March 2024 in Savarkar Hall. First of all, the dignitaries on the dais lighted the lamp and garlanded the images of Late Babaji Datey, the founder of institution and the goddess of learning, Devi Saraswati.
The programme was presided over by the Principal of college Dr. Varsha Kulkarni. She motivated the students to take active part in all the Departmental Programmes. Prof. Nilesh Autkar, Head, Department of English Smt. Nankibai Wadhwani Arts College was the Guest of honour. He enlightened the students by throwing light on how poetry is the significant form of literature. He also quoted various definitions of poetry and he invokes the students to be the fond lover of language and literature. Dr. T.K.Kanthale, Head , Department of English  was the chief guest. He addressed the students in his introductory remarks.
Dr. Sachin Telkhade was the jury for the Poetry Recitation Competition. Rohan Gayakwad was declared first prize.  The second prize was given to Miss. Vaishnavi Kokare. However, Mr. Tushar Dadanje was given the third prize respectively. In all, 117 students were present for the event.
Mr. Rohan Gayakwad, President of English Literary Society compered the programme. Mr. Tushar Dadanje proposed vote of thanks. The faculty members and office bearers of English Literary Society took efforts for the success of programme.

The department of English organised Books Donation Ceremony on dated 31 December, 2023, in ICT room, Geography Department. Dr. Vivek Deshmukh, Head, Department of English delivered his opening remarks. Dr. Babasaheb Adamane and Dr. Chaudhari were the guest of honour and they enlightened the students. The program was presided over by Dr. Vivek Deshmukh. Many students and most of the teachers attended the programme.
In the programme, 40 Grammar Books were donated to the students, who succeeded in securing first 40 positions in the result of Grammar Test held on 30/10/2023. Total 214 students were appeared for the examination. The grammar book entitled 'English Grammar Practice' authored by Raj N. Bakshi. The books were donated by Dr. V. S. Deshmukh in memory of his mother Late Kusumtai Shridharrao Deshmukh. The programme was anchored by Dr. Sachin Telkhade and vote of thanks expressed by Dr. Tarachabd Kanthale.

Department of English conducted reading skills activity from 27 October to 01 November, 2023. The activity was conducted for B. A. Semester 1 students, they responded spontaneously to this activity. In this activity, a student comes on the stage and reads a paragraph or poem from the prescribed syllabus and explains it in marathi or English. The activity helped students to develop their reading skills and public speaking skills.

MCQ English Grammar Test has been conducted by the Department of English on 30, October 2023 at 9:00 a.m. Total 214 students appeared for the English grammar test.
Seating arrangement were done in 4 class rooms. Four invigilators were appointed to conduct test transparently and smoothly.  The test paper included 50 multiple choice questions on various grammar topics. As a prize, first 40 students were offered a Grammar Book in the memory of Late Kusumtai Shridharrao Deshmukh. Book Donation Ceremony was held and books were distributed.

बुधवार, दिनांक 27 सप्टेंबर 2023 रोजी महाविद्यालयामध्ये इंग्रजी विभागातर्फे संभाषण कौशल्य व व्यक्तिमत्व विकास या विषयावर गेस्ट लेक्चर आयोजित करण्यात आले होते. या कार्यक्रमासाठी विशेष अतिथी म्हणून कुमारी आश्लेषा अडसोड यांनी विद्यार्थ्यांना या स्पर्धेच्या युगात संभाषण कौशल्य आणि व्यक्तिमत्व विकास यांचे महत्त्व पटवून दिले. ज्याला संभाषण करता येते, आपल्या भावना व्यक्त करता येतात, तो या जगात आपले अस्तित्व निर्माण करू शकतो, असे प्रतिपादन कुमारी आश्लेषा अडसड यांनी केले. इंग्रजी विभाग प्रमुख डॉ. विवेक देशमुख कार्यक्रमाच्या अध्यक्षस्थानी होते. विद्यार्थ्यांनी अभ्यासेतर कार्यक्रमांमध्ये सहभागी होऊन संभाषणामध्ये रुची घेतल्यास जीवनात प्रगती निश्चित करता येते, असे मत डॉ. विवेक देशमुख यांनी आपल्या अध्यक्ष मनोगतातून व्यक्त केले. प्रारंभी पाहुण्यांच्या हस्ते दीपप्रज्वन करून स्वागत आणि सत्कार करण्यात आला. या कार्यक्रमाचे प्रास्ताविक आणि परिचय प्रा.डॉ. ताराचंद कंठाळे यांनी तर आभार प्रदर्शन प्रा. डॉ. सचिन तेलखडे यांनी केले. या कार्यक्रमाचे संचलन   रोहन गायकवाड बी .ए.भाग 3 आणि दिपाली ठाकरे बी. ए. भाग 2 यांनी संयुक्तरीत्या केले. सदर कार्यक्रमास महाविद्यालयातील बहुसंख्य शिक्षक व विद्यार्थी उपस्थित होते.

बाबाजी दाते कला आणि वाणिज्य महाविद्यालय, यवतमाळ येथे इंग्रजी विभागातर्फे गुरुवार दिनांक 13/04/2023 रोजी Legal Awareness & Road Safety या विषयावर व्याख्यान आयोजीत्  करण्यात आले. या कार्यक्रमासाठी प्रमुख वक्ते म्हणून Road Transport Office (RTO) चे श्री. दिवेश उबाळे उपस्थित होते. त्यांनी गाडी चालवताना कोणकोणत्या नियमांचे पालन करावे याबद्दल माहिती दिली. या कार्यक्रमासाठी बी.ए. आणि बी.कॉम. चे विद्यार्थी बहुसंख्येने उपस्थित होते. कार्यक्रमाच्या आयोजनासाठी  महाविद्यालयाचे प्राचार्य व इंग्रजी विभाग प्रमुख डॉ. विवेक देशमुख तसेच डॉ. ताराचंद कंठाळे, डॉ. रवीजीत गावंडे यांचे सहकार्य लाभले. कार्यक्रमाच्या आयोजनासाठी डॉ. सचिन तेलखडे यांनी समन्वयक म्हणून काम पाहिले.

Department of English, Babaji Datey Kala Ani Vanijya Mahavidyalaya, Yavatmal organized lnauguration of English Literary Society on 29 November 2022 at Sawarkar Hall. The inaugurator of function and Chief Guest Dr. Sudhir Trikande, Associate Professor, Bhausaheb Bore Shivshkti Mahavidyalaya, Babhulgaon spoke on this occasion. During his speech, he underlined the need and importance of Planning for career development. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized on the role of English in the success of various eminent personalities.
Dr Tarachand Kanthale gave an introductory remarks and shared valuable information on the topic. Prof. Vijay Dixit, Librarian was prominently present and also guided the stakeholders. Dr. Vivek Deshmukh, Head, Department of English, presided over the function and addressed the gathering. He enlightened the students by appealing to be the fond lovers of English and acquire dignified positions as college’s alumni.
On this occasion, newly elected BOS members of Senate, Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati Dr. Sudhir Trikande and Dr.Tarachand Kanthale were also felicitated by the Department of English. However, During the programme, executive members of English Literary Society were felicitated. Dr. Tarachand Kanthale and Dr. Sachin Telkhade took strenuous efforts to make program successful. Teaching faculties, other staff members and 141 students attended the programme. Mr. Rohan Gayakwad , newly elected Secretory and Miss. Vaishnavi Kokare, Co-editor of Literary Magazine, Dawn of  English Literary Society conducted the proceedings while Miss Amrpali Shende proposed vote of thanks.

On 26th May 2022, Department of English of Babaji Datey Kala Ani Vanijya Mahavidyalaya conducted Group Discussion on the topic 'Importance of English in Students' Life'. At the beginning of the discussion the participating students were little bit hesitant in expressing their opinions but soon they got over the fear and the discussion picked up the pace. The purpose of conducting Group Discussion was to encourage students to speak in English and boost their confidence. The purpose of conducting Group Discussion was fulfilled to a large extent Many of the students highlighted the importance of English in their lives.
The session was attended by Dr. Vivek Deshmukh, H.O.D. Dept. of English, Prof. Haridas Dhurve, Dr. Tarachand Kanthale, Dr. Ravijeeet Gawande and faculty coordinator Dr. Sachin Telkhade.

Department of English, Babaji Datey Kala Ani Vanijya Mahavidyalaya, Yavatmal organized inauguration of English Literary Society and welcome to the Freshers on 07 January 2022 at Sawarkar Hall.
Dr Vivek Deshmukh gave an introductory remarks and shared valuable information on the topic. The inaugurator of function Mr. Vinayak  Datey, President, VMV trust spoke on this occasion. During his speech, he underlined the need and importance of English for career development. Mr. Pravin Gandhi, renowned Chartered Accountant and an alumnus of the institution was a speaker and the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized the role of English in the success of various eminent personalities. His presentation was followed by question and answer session.. Dr. Varsha Kulkarni, Principal of the college, presided over the function and addressed the gathering.
During the programme, winners of Debate and Seminar Presentation Competitions were felicitated at the hands of Chief Guest. Executive members of English Literary Society were felicitated and first year students were welcomed at the hands of dignitaries.
Dr. Tarachand Kanthale and Dr. Sachin Telkhade took strenuous efforts to make program successful. Teaching faculty, other staff members and 135 students attended the programme. Mr. Mahesh Sirsat, newly elected President of English Literary Society conducted the proceedings while Miss Sakshi Makode proposed vote of thanks.
